you. The best spots are surrounding the East Northport, New York, area.
Caumsett State Park
This park has the best mountain biking trail! Especially if you’re ready for a long day of easy riding! This trail is an 8-mile loop! There are more than 15 miles of hard-packed dirt roads, and bridle paths. These form an interesting network on 1,500 acres of magnificent, hilly terrain! The park is located in Lloyd Neck in the town of Huntington. Caumsett state park is bordered by towering bluffs and a sandy pebble beach which extends to the water’s edge. Several paths lead to the shore. After being hot from riding the trails you can park your bike, jump in the sound, and cool off! Or you can just sit on the beach and watch the boats go by. Caumsett State Park has a full spectrum of different bike rides for everyone. Most of the trails are well maintained. They are kept wide, and smooth, and they are a joy to ride! There is enough variety for the beginner to learn some basic handling and endurance skills. The more experienced rider will find some fast doubletrack! Equestrians, walkers, and bike riders gladly share the trails. Most of the paths meander over fairly level ground with some minor hills. The trail difficult level is easy, and there are no fees.
Meadowlark Park Mountain Bike Trail
Meadowlark Park is in East Northport, New York. To enter the mountain bike trail make a left into the woods right after the metal barrier. This trail is new. It is still soft and isn’t even marked yet. However, the trail is easy to follow. There are logs everywhere though, which makes the trail a little difficult. It is six miles long, and is singletrack. The track goes in a loop. The trail’s difficultly level was rated as intermediate. There is no great elevation change through the course of the trail. There are no fees to go on this trail.
