GoodInKind.com is a marketplace that raises money for causes, promotes local commerce, and connects people with others in their area. GoodInKind is particularly well-suited for people who care about environmental advocacy and have
tangible outdoor skills (you know … New York Outdoors blog readers!)
GoodInKind.com allows people to donate services online for a price. When services are purchased by a buyer, the money goes directly to a non-profit selected by the service “offerer.” People can also request services they need with the knowledge that the money they pay will go to a non-profit. It’s kind of like Craigslist for a good cause. They currently have more than 45 non-profit partners on board, including the Community Environmental Defense Council, the Finger Lakes Land Trust, Restore the Earth Foundation, Cayuga Nature Center, and a host of other organizations committed to a range of causes. (My favorite is Finger Lakes Land Trust – think of all the wonderful work they’ve done to save valuable lands and open trails for the public! That’s an effort worth supporting.)
