They’ve got to be kidding …. I came across this scout.me web site, first for Syracuse NY trails. I noticed you could search for any location, so I selected Rochester NY as a city whose trails I have intimate knowledge. It started off well, offering the Genesee River Trail, Greece Canal Park Trail, Isaac Gordon Nature Park Trail, and Tryon Park. OK, good trails – no maps provided – but good recommendations. I kept scrolling down to find Island Hopping In The Cyclades, Greek Island Wanderer, and Greece: The Southern Coast all listed as being in Greece NY!
There is a Greece NY and it has nice trails, but these places happen to be in the country of Greece – far from Rochester NY. So, this web site has good intentions, but as with many – it doesn’t know what it’s talking about. Stick to local guidebooks – written by people who know the area they’re covering – you’ll even get maps. You can find many for NY state at footprintpress.com.
