Enthusiasm for the Springwater Trail was high last Sunday, July 29, as more than 20 people gathered to work through Sugarbush Hollow. Weed whackers, loppers, clippers, markers, blue blazing and energy transformed the path to a comfortable 3-foot-wide swath from Pardee Hollow to Tabors Corners Road, up and down through the woods and over a meadow farm road. A mailbox with trail maps and a visitor book was installed at the entrance to the trail on Pardee Hollow. A whole family of newcomers came to help blaze the trail. Afterwards, Pam Masterson hosted dinner with hamburgs and salad, while others brought fruit to share. Next week, Aug. 5, the hike will be near Canadice Lake.
